655 Cottlesbridge/Strathewen Road, Arthurs Creek
This application sought to put a dwelling on an undersized lot. This was part of a subdivision that was passed by Council in 2004. It clearly should not have been as the Rural Conservation Zone clearly states lots must be 40 hectares in size. In 2009 the owner of one of these undersized lots put in an application for a dwelling and the consolidation of one of these subdivided lots into another. The new lot was still below the Rural Conservation Zone limit. This was passed by Council and again it should not have been. At the August 17th Council meeting the latest application for a dwelling was refused by Council even though the officer recommendation was for approval. It is great that Council refused this application, as clearly the Scheme has contrary guidelines. Another win for the green wedge.
